Hi,
for a bikepacking trip in Tadjikistan, what approximative budget would you plan per day on the pamir highway / Bartang valley (home stay / cheap hotel + food) ?
Is is possible to pay in USD in remote area, in case we do not have local currency ?
Am asking because actually we'll enter tadjk from Kirgzt /China, without going through a big city.
Thanks
Alain (France)
You could buy Tajik somonis from money changers in Osh but since the border is closed I don't know.
I think you can exchange money in Murghab.
Tajikistan is a very cheap country.
If you plan to camp most of the time with a day here and there in guesthouses. I'd say US$15 a day on average. I remember in Murghab, Alichur and Jelody, I paid USD in guesthouses. But I don't think you can pay with USD in small stores for food.
You should be able to change some somoni in Murghab.
