Border crossing Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan (Isfara-Batken)

Is the road, border or area open and accessible to foreigners? Is there danger?

Thanx a lot and any help and info will be hugely appreciated!

Great site... been using it all the way from Turkey! Great info!

Cheers

Right now, it's open. Never know what might happen in the future...but should be fine unless someone starts shooting up the place.

Hello, what is the actually state for this border crossing? Is it open in July - August 2016. We went to crossing this border end of July 2016. And has someone a GPS track about the enclave passing? We found some Map here but not sure it is the northern route along the border or the south route that we need?

Thanks for help

Batken - Isfara border crossing open for foreigners?

Post by Munas »

Hy!

Planning to go in 3 days from Osh to Batken and enter Tajikistan with my own car. Someone knows if the border is open for foreigners?
According to the Austrian consulate in Bishkek borders between Kyrgyzstan / Tajikistan are closed until September 10th.

Thanks for some infos!

Hellu,

can somebody tell me if there is an ATM in Batken?
Glad for your advice, since in Dushanbe I can't get KG somoni, and I have to leave tomorrow.
I would be nice to know if I should get some more TJ somoni, or if I will be fine in Batken.

Thanks,
pai

Hi,
well I don't know about the border, since we will find out ourselves coming from the TJ side.
But, question: are you willing to take two people on your way back to TJ?

We, my volunteer partner and I have to go to KG in order to get an E-Visa an reenter TJ. We will hopefully be ready on Wednesday/ Thursday with everything. Inshallah.

If you want to give us a lift let me know ;)

I crossed this October from Isfara to Batken on public transport. Very easy, nothing special. Within 15 minutes it was done. The ride in total took less than 1,5 hours.
