Re: Korday border crossing reports (Almaty-Bishkek)
Buses between Almaty and Bishkek are running again! I took one two days ago from Almaty to Bishkek for 2500T at 16:00pm, took about 5h30m in total. No taxis would take me for less than 5000T, I spent quite some time looking for one that would do it for 4000.

You still need to get your registration slips from your accommodation as far as I understand.

Re: Group day tour Konorchek/Burana
You can organise this independently unless you really want a guide to tell you about the Burana Tower. A friend and I recently went to both places for cheap: we took a marshrutka to Tokmok for 70 KGS each, then hired a taxi to take us to Kochkor via the Burana Tower (allow 30-40mins) and the Kornoch...

Re: Tajikistan Corona travel restrictions / e-visa issues Q&A
Hi, Do you have any actual information on whether a PCR test is required upon arrival in Dushanbe? Or is a vaccination certificate enough? We are flying next week with Turkish airline. Unfortunately, I have different information about the conditions of entry into the country. Thanks I flew to Dusha...

Re: GPS loggers in trains?
Hi Sebastian, I have no experience with GPS loggers but I might be able to give you some relevant information. I took a talgo train from Nur Sultan to Semey two nights ago, and the GPS on my phone would not work throughout the journey. As you suggest, it's likely the train shields the signals too mu...

Re: Possible new GBAO closure (late August...)
Thanks for the heads up! We have a Pamir jeep tour booked for the 2nd to the 12th of September, so far our guide hasn't said anything about plans changing and we have all been issued GBAO permits. If the guide informs us about a change of plans I'll update here.
