Re: Embassy report: Russian visa in Almaty

Marijke&Jurjen wrote:@tabf2010 thanks for your post! Would you maybe let us know if your transit visa starts within three days after collecting it or if you can choose the entry date yourself?
We chose the dates. You can choose on the online application. It starts 3 weeks after collecting it.

We - an American and a Hungarian - just got 30 day Uzbekistan tourist visas from the embassy in Baku. It was super easy. We filled in the visa application online, printed it and brought copies of our passports and photos, and went to the embassy. It's open from 9-12 and 15-17 on Monday, Wednesday, F...

Re: Russia Altai permit

Hey guys, I have some updated information about the permit situation. I was just in Altai for about 2 weeks and met some local couchsurfing hosts who shared a lot of info with me. Summary: 1. Non-stop transit through border zones without a permit is perfectly legal (unclear whether this is only for ...

Russian tourist visa in Tbilisi, Georgia

There is already information in this forum about Russian transit visas obtained in Tbilisi but nothing yet about tourist visas. Russian tourist visas are also quite easy to obtain in Tbilisi. I have a USA passport, so hopefully someone with another passport can add their experience to this thread as...

Re: General security advice - GBAO

Does anybody know if the border market in the visa-free zone between Tajikistan and Afghanistan is open now? I'll also be going this route soon, probably by hitchhiking. Anja did you guys have Afghan visas or just went to the border zone?
