Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Tehran
It shouldn't be a problem to extend your Iranian visa, for example as a cyclist in Yazd I got my visa extended by 30 days eventhough the visa didn't expire for another 15 days. I just had to explain that I didn't pass by big cities where I could extend instead. Shiraz should perhaps be even easier. ...

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Tehran
Update: on Tuesday the Tehran embassy told me that the visa had been refused. I'm unsure if this was true however, maybe there was still no answer and they just said us it was refused as our entry day was only six days away But before this phone call I had again handed in an application form in the ...

Re: Turkmen visa Q&A
Does anyone have experience with applying a second time for a transit visa after you've already been rejected? The Teheran embassy said that it would be rejected again, but now at the embassy in masshad they appear more hopeful.

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Tehran
Just to add another experience to the above, applied on July 10th in Tehran with pickup in Masshad. Asked for 1-5 July dates, for Sarakhs-Farap by bicycle (I'm not the same Belgian mentioned by rolynaround). Today, 15 days later, still no decision. Going to the embassy in masshad tomorrow and the da...

Re: Turkmenistan Transit Visa in Tehran
This morning I went to the embassy to apply for a five day transit visa. Re: Embassy report: Uzbekistan visa in Tehran
I went this morning to pick up my Uzbek visa after I applied in Istanbul two months ago. It took less than an hour, as it wasn't very busy at the embassy. One note: she asked for a copy of the main page of my passport. So if you didn't apply in the Tehran embassy, be sure to bring a copy of your pas...

Re: Embassy report: Iran visa in Tbilisi
I went to the Iran embassy in Tbilisi today (Friday) and had the same experience as Sjaan, with my Belgian passport. I arrived shortly after 10 am with my e-visa printout, passport, 1 photo and insurance paper. After handing over my passport and some waiting, one of the guys behind the counter in th...

Re: Chinese visa with Kyrgyz/Kazakh residence permit?
Hi Jef and Kat, Just to inform you, it is possible to apply for a second Belgian passport at your municipality if you say that one country might reject you based on a second country in your pasport (e.g. "Indien een landgenoot wil of moet reizen naar een land dat niet toelaat dat visa of grensoversc...

Re: Most succesfull option to apply for a Chinese visa for a silk road trip over land?
Writing the consul is an option. Though I imagine I'd have to mention that I am travelling over land if I want to motivate the six month period. I hadn't heard about the Georgian trick. Could be interesting, thanks!. After talking with someone from the Chinese embassy, it seems that the chances of g...

Most succesfull option to apply for a Chinese visa for a silk road trip over land?
Hi all, First of, many thanks to this community for being an excellent resource on all things related to travel on the silk road! In preparation for an overland silk road trip next year, I am looking at my options for applying for a Chinese visa (and formulating a plan B should my application get re...
