Re: how can we buy side car Ural in Dushanbe
Some years ago we met Alick with an Ural on his way through the stans (2013). You most probably found his story in advrider forum "Uralistan". He bought a sidecar Ural in Bishkek and took of the sidecar, then went on until Kabul. So it should be doable, but if you want two of them, it could take som...

Re: Shopping - oats/muesli
In the past we had no problems finding oats in Khorog. Ask for "Gerkules" (you can also try it in other villages). In China we sometimes had difficult times finding oats. Muesli or oats are also our preferred breakfast.

Re: 4 cyclists killed in Tajikistan
There is a difference though.
While in Europe you are a target among many million other targets if they aim at westerners, in Tajikistan there is not such a mass to hide in.

Re: Help with shipping from dushnabe
We've only sent back baggage from Kirgyzstan and Uzbekistan with the normal post, but nothing of the dimension of a bicycle. Sending back from Uzbekistan was a lot cheaper and everything arrived (in relatively short time, allthough sent via surface mail).

We only had lunch at the Turbaza at Iskanderkul, but that was fine. Additionnally we could buy a map of the region there.

Re: Three Weeks in the Wakhan Corridor
When we were in Wakhan, we just were at the end of Ramadan (last 2 days) and it was only felt in Ishkashim, but nothing serious (shops were open), just a majority was following the rules and people were disrespecting those who were flushing the throat with water (spitting it out again). As for food,...

Re: Itinerary for the Fann Mountains
And check the description for each pass and try to anticipate the conditions. We went over Kaznok at the begining of september and it was ok (but it is very steep for a trekking pass), but you can have ice (in any case you have ice, as you go on the glacier, the critical stretch is therefore the ste...

Hi
when we were there in 2013, it was necessary to have another paper from the consulate in Khorog just for the car.

Re: Tajikistan to Pakistan (Islamabad)
Sorry, your planing seems contradictory. How would you cross China to enter Pakistan without a Chinese visa? Because you write, that you apply in Islamabad for the Chinese visa.
