Re: Aral sea / visit Kantubek
We have been in Moynaq Mai 2019. When we were there we met a couple travelling with a Land Cruiser. They tried to visit Kantubek but couldn't make it.

Re: Cargo motocycle from Turkemistan to Georgia
Hi there,
it sounds almost Impossible to ship a foreign licensed motorcycle out of Turkmenistan.
Never ever heard this happened
Why don't you Ship Out of Kyrgistan or to a Kazakh Port at the Caspian or ride to Georgia via Russia?

Re: same-sex married travelers
My Personal experience (as a hetereosexual) whilst travelling with a friend in the 'stans: Neither guesthouse nor homestays wondered why 2 men slept in the same rooms / bed. Probably because the places often had one guestroom only. In hotels, especially in Beyneu & Kursk, we we're asked 3-4 Times If...

Re: Pamir Highway: too cold in May?
Hi Stijn, we did Pamir Hwy 2019 by motorbikes, started in Khorog May 19th. No issues at all, the road was free of mud & snow. Only the stretch of no-mans-land, the first few Km after Bar Dobo border crossing, where a bit snowy. Plenty of organized tours on the road at that time, all 4WD. The nights ...

Re: Where to find free, legal bivouac & camp sites in Europe?
Free (or wild) camping is not allowed in most of Europe. An exemption are the Nordic States (Norway, Sweden, probably Finland). Here's a link regarding rules and regulations. Note that, although otherwise stated in the linked article, motor-vehicles (everything from motorbike to campervan) are not a...

Hi Bamboo, lot's of questions in one post ;) maybe you should consider breaking them down into several posts. I travelled Xingjang by motorbike.... A guide is needed/mandatory. I met some cyclists who didn't seem to have a guide.....Cannot answer the question. For the amount you have mentioned you c...

Re: Tourists are able to drive in China right now
Hi there, Just to get this right.... All of the posts above are referring to the temp. License. What about driving a foreign licensed vehicle? It'd be great to have a simplified process for both, maybe even the ability to drive a defined route (e.g. Murghab - Tashkurgan - Pakistan) without a 'guide'...
