I know it's a long shot, but I'll try anyway...:
Does anyone here have experience in logging train trips with a GPS logger (e.g. https://gpswebshop.com/products/columbu ... ata-logger) and if yes, have you tried it out in one of the Kazakh Talgo trains?
I'm aware of the fact that GPS loggers don't work well in trains, but I also know that some trains are more problematic than others. It's particularly bad when the windows have ultra-thin metal coating, and I suspect that this is the case with Talgo trains. Can anyone back this up?

GPS loggers in trains?
Re: GPS loggers in trains?
Hi Sebastian,
I have no experience with GPS loggers but I might be able to give you some relevant information. I took a talgo train from Nur Sultan to Semey two nights ago, and the GPS on my phone would not work throughout the journey. As you suggest, it's likely the train shields the signals too much. Maybe GPS loggers have a better receiver.
In contrast on my trains from Nur Sultan to Karaganda and back, which were the older variety, GPS worked at many points of the journey.
Best,
Edu

Thanks a lot - yes, that kind of confirms my (negative) expectations!
