Difference between Outbox and Sent Messages?

Post by sah10406 »

If an outgoing PM is in my Outbox rather than my Sent Messages, has it not been sent? If it hasn't, why not, and how do I send it?

No - it hasn't been sent. This may be because 1) your device does not have access to the internet or 2) your mail client isn't correctly configured (e.g. SMTP) or 3) your mail provider currently has technical issues and can't receive your message. It could also be because 4) your message contains an attachment that is either too large or has a format not accepted by your client/provider. Finally, it could be because 5) whatever network you are on at the moment does not allow traffic on the port that your mail client uses (usually 587) - but I'd think this is very unlikely. That's all I can think of at the moment.

I'm pretty sure he's asking about PMs sent here.

Those sit in your outbox until the person you're messaging logs on and reads it.

Thanks.

Yes, I wasn't looking for IT support with my personal email.
