June 2019 — Not sure what happened to Dali in terms of visa extension. It used to be one of the easiest place to get it done, usually a few minutes or at most 24h. As of now, better apply somewhere else (Leshan?). 9 days turnaround, applied on 11th and pick up date on the 20th. You need to get your electronic picture file done in Xiaguan (Dali New Town) 35rmb for 6 printed pictures and the electronic picture file.

Couldn’t negotiate to get the file only. You’ll also need photocopies of your passport front page and Chinese visa (they won’t do it at the PSB.) You still need the pink slip from your hotel but you also have to get a registration file at the local police station (if you’re staying in Dali Old Town, you need to get it there.) Fill the form and write down all the cities you plan to visit and hotels where you’ll stay (no need actual bookings.)

Bring all the documents to the PSB + 160rmb for the extension fee.
