Russian Transit Visa from the Almaty consulate is possibly your best (and only) bet as an EU citizen right now.

To apply for a Private Visa in Almaty:
- Do I need to book an online appointment first? If yes, please provide the URL.
- Do an insurance policy required for everybody, or just the EU citizens?
- Do they accept Visa application everyday? Or, are there a special times of the day when they take documents?

Thanks a lot

Could you share what documents did you give to apply for this visa? I saw that we need proof of entering and exiting the country but since I'm traveling overland by train and buses I'm unable to buy any ticket outside of Russia.

I was traveling by car, I only needed to specify the customs that I pass in the application and show them the car papers. The car brand is named in the visa.
