I have just returned from Iran after touring for 21 days. We were a group of 10 friends all on Australian Passports. Our travel arrangements were handled through Pardisan Travel and they were exemplary.
We arrived in three small groups. One person from the UK late in the afternoon, seven of us early in the evening and two early the next morning. We were all on Australian passports and had a Letter of Authorisation from the MOI via Pardisan ravel.
None of us had any problems with obtaining a Visa at the airport for a duration of thirty days of travelling.
Our arrival date was 17th September 2016 and we departed Sept 10th.
Iran is a truly amazing country with great people and historic sites to visit.

Re: Visa on Arrival at IRAN
Icelandic passport holder: I got my visa on arrival fairly easily. 75 euros and only one little paper to fill out (no letter or passport photos), but you do now need to prove that you have health insurance that covers you in Iran during your dates of travel (these two things need to be explicitly stated). If not, they ask you to buy their travel insurance, which is 14 euros or 16USD (as of Oct 22 2016), and only then can you get the visa on arrival. Be aware also that you need to pay for the visa and insurance in EUROS (or dollars), not rials.

Hi,
What information did you provide for accommodation if you were couchsurfing?
DO you still need to have a hotel reservation?

Yeah, to the visa application form you are going to enter address of your stay in Iran. Therefore you will make hotel booking for one night and you never arrive to the hotel. That's all. Don't even mention anything like couchsurfing etc.acs wrote:Hi,

No need to book a hotel, you can just fill in a hotel name on the form. Usually hotel bookings are not required, see embassy reports for details.

If you like Caravanistan: we have opened a tip jar! We love you back!
Re: Visa on Arrival at IRAN
An address of a 'friend' (Couchsurfing or Warmshowers host) does the trick as well. Our host had received many guests before, but no official ever had called him before to verify if the foreigners would indeed stay at his place.

Re: Visa on Arrival at IRAN
Not unimportant: for the visa itself, you don't need proof of onward travel, but the airline you're flying with can require it!
We flew with Air Asia from Singapore to Tehran in April 2017 and if we hadn't arranged a fake ticket to 'fly out' of Iran via Flyonward.com, they wouldn't have let us board! According to their policy we were also allowed to stay only 28 days in Iran, so if our ticket would have been effectively 30 days we would still have had a problem...

In Kuala Lumpur they asked me for an outgoing flight and I said I'll leave Iran by bus to Turkey.
No problem at all.

Visa on Arrival at Bandar Abbas?
hi guys
http://www.irantravelingcenter.com/iran ... n-arrival/
According to above link, the article says I can obtain a VOA(Visa on arrival) at Bandar Abbas(Shahid Bahonar Harbor, Bandare Abbas.)
But I'm not sure that there is a booth for VOA.
Do you guys have any further infos? I'm a bearer of South Korean Passport; No hassle for obtaining VOA at other Int'l airports.
Thx in advance.
