Re: 5-day visa free transit for air passengers in Uzbekistan
I am arriving on China Southern Airlines on August 20th and departing August 24th on Asiana Airlines - if I have my onward travel boarding pass it should work right?

Re: 5-day visa free transit for air passengers in Uzbekistan
I am entering and exiting over four days - all on Uzbek Airlines, and am from the USA. Do I need to do anything (other than present valid passport) or just show up at the airport and they will let me in? Thanks.

Only Uzbek Airways? This was not mentioned even when I called the embassy in Washington to confirm I do not need a visa . . .
I will be arriving on Uzbek Airways, but departing on Turkish. Might this work? And is there a fee at the border?
Travelling next week, now getting nervous. Perhaps better to just apply for the e-visa?
Thanks for any suggestions.

According to our info it is only Uzbek Airways. We are always happy to be proven wrong, and as you correctly stated, most people who should know in Uzbekistan are not aware of the rules, so you might just pass unnoticed. But legally, it seems to us it is not allowed what you are trying to do.

Re: 5-day visa free transit for air passengers in Uzbekistan
Thanks Steve, Just to be safe I'm trying to apply for an Uzbek e-visa, but the system won't take my photo (even though it is edited to the specifications). Guess I'll look to see if anyone has suggestions on this . . .
It's really interesting that they have a rule about airline, but this information is not available anywhere - not online, and not provided by the embassy . . . go figure.
If I end up trying to get through without a visa I will certainly post with details about my experience!

Photos have to end with lowercase ".jpg".
The transit visa rule is that the airline must relay the correct/relevant arrival & departure information to the government. So far only one airline does this.
