Buying a car in Kazakhstan

Hi all,

I’m from England but working in Japan on a holiday visa. Looking to buy a car in June from the Almaty area to drive through to Georgia. However I’ve heard it’s hard to buy a car without residency.

I was wondering if anyone knew if it’s possible to do this and if not are there any possible alternatives?
