Border taxes amount for motorcycles?

Hi Guys,

I will be crossing the border from Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, does anybody know how much it cost with all the taxes you need to pay?

I also met many Mongol Rally teams who got robbed by the Turkmen border patrol guards. Somebody lost an iPhone and another team lost $4000 cash. So especially cars, keep your eyes on your valuables!

I have read that, but if I remember correctly it didn't mention prices for motorcycles. Anyway, I emerged from the other side of Turkmenistan.

I ended up paying firstly $10 commission (+$4 bank fee(only payable in US dollars)) just to get a stamp in my passport.

Then for the motorcycle I paid $64 dollar (+$4 bank fee). The rate is calculated and includes petrol tax, insurance, document handeling and sterilization fee. The road tax is calculated by the amount of kilometers you drive.

I drove from Nukus straight south to Ashgabat and wanted to cross the border straight south from there, but when I rocked up there it was closed. So I had to drive to Artyk to cross and they made me pay another $11 for the extra piece of road I had driven. They are building a new border crossing there so it's in a different location then on maps.me.
